Adaptation sculpture from an abstract design of three ladies on the Poster for the 13th exhibition of the Sezession (Secession) in Vienna in 1902 by Kolomon Moser

During the fin-de-siecle, the 'Wiener Sezession' was formed by a group headed by Moser, Hoffmann, and Klimt. It was literally a secession (split) from the traditional Wiener Kunstlerhaus. The mostly young artists wanted to create their own version of the Jugendstil, as others had already done in Munich and Berlin. The Wiener Sezession led to the 1903 formation of the Wiener Werkstatte, a workshop for applied art that aimed to reconcile the fine and applied arts.
