Extra Large Michelangelo's David Head Statue

Michelangelo's sculpture breaks away from the traditional way of representing king David. He does not present us with the winner, the giant's head at his feet and the powerful sword in his hand, like other sculptures show. Rather, he portrays a youthful King David as tense with a sense of the gathering of power immediately preceding the battle. Perhaps the Michelangelo sculpture has caught David just at the moment when he notices his people hesitating, while Goliath attempts to intimidate and mock them.
