FS Achanthus Corbel Wall Plaque

In the past acanthus leaf corbels lined the ceilings of the outside of the temples of the greek gods at their entryways and were often combined with capitals and columns to dignify the historic, and often evasive, symbolism of the gods of the Pantheon. The acanthus corbel is the most popular type of corbel and is a rather abstract form of a plant instilled with an architectural function lent to us from the temples of ancient history.
